Rochelle's Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Does anything feel better than a warm, chewy, chocolate chip cookie?  If you like big, substantial, dense, and a bit chewy chocolate chip cookie, then this recipe is for you.

INGREDIENTS

- 2 cups flour

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1 1/2 sticks salted butter

- 1 packed cup brown sugar

- 1 cup white sugar

- 1 large egg (room temp)

- 1 egg yolk

- 1 Tbsp vanilla

- 1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

Start by preheating your oven to 325.

Sift 2 cup flour and 1/2 tsp baking soda together, set aside.

Melt 3/5 cup (or 1 1/2 sticks) of salted butter. Add to 1 packed cup brown sugar, and 1 cup white sugar.  Blend until smooth. Add 1 large egg (room temp is best if you can) and an extra egg yoke (no egg white). Blend into butter/sugar mixture. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla, blend until smooth.

Slowly add sifted flour/baking soda into butter/sugar mixture a little bit at a time. Do NOT over mix, it will make your dough tough. Once the flour is well combined stop mixing.

Gently fold in 1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (mini chips are my personal favorite) with a spoon.

On a greased cookie sheet form cookie dough balls 1/4-1/3 cup size and space at least 3 inches apart- these babies spread out.

Bake 15-17 minutes, or until the edges start to get crispy brown color. Careful not to overcook- you’ll lose the gooey/chewy effect.

Pour a giant glass of cold milk or brew a hot cup of cocoa and try not to eat them all in one day ;)
