Dark Chocolate Cranberry Scones

I had some Mother’s Day baking fun with my granddaughters.  We decided to try our hand at a new treat, scones!  I will admit I have never made scones before, but was shocked at how easy they were to make, and how delicious they were!

We followed the recipe from domesticallyblissful.com, and would highly recommend it.

INGREDIENTS

Scones

- 4 cups cranberries

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

- 2 3/4 cup flour

- 1/2 cup French vanilla creamer

- 1 pinch salt

- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1 stick COLD butter (helps to make scones flaky)

- 1/2 cup half & half

Icing

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 2 Tbsp milk

- splash of vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Use the mixer to combine the ingredients.  Be careful not to over mix, the dough will become tough.  When shaping the scones, it will be dry and crumbly- thats OK! Work loose material into the dough.

These were a huge hit, my granddaughters loved them!
