Iris's Cranberry Harvest Bars

Found this well worn recipe in Grandma Iris's recipe book. I remember eating these in her kitchen when I was young. I love that we've been able to pass this recipe down three generations now. I hope you enjoy these as much as our family does!

INGREDIENTS

- 1 egg

- 1 1/2 cup sugar

- 1/2 cup soft butter

- 1/2 tsp nutmeg

- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 1 tsp vanilla

- 1 1/4 cup flour

- 3/4 cup fresh cranberries

BUTTER GLAZE: In saucepan over low heat, stir in 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream. Remove from heat until glaze thickens to desired consistency.

DIRECTIONS

Mix together egg, sugar and butter. Add in nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Sift in flour and cranberries. Mixture will be thick. Pour in greased 8×8 pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool, add glaze.
